who we are

Sanjay, Founder
Sanjay, of Indian origin was brought up in London but didn’t truly fall in love with India in his second year of university when he visited Delhi and Jammu for a family wedding after a 10 year hiatus. It was a trip that changed the course of his life forever. Despite stints in the USA on a Work America programme, a 2 year ‘work his way’ around the world trip doing everything from cherry picking, working in a ski resort in OZ, selling white goods in Santa Monica and dive trips in the Whitsundays, it was India that completely stole his heart somewhere in his 20’s and from that period on he was organising India holiday’s for his friends, which ultimately led to the founding of Bespoke India Travel.

Meera, Founder
Meera was born in Amritsar in the north west of India and travelled extensively in the northern Himalayan region with her family. She studied at the prestigious NIFT `{`National Institute of Fashion Technology`}` in Calcutta before following Sanjay into the travel Industry. It is Meera’s invaluable textile knowledge and great industry contacts that she works with to create our excellent textile trips all over the country. Meera’s travel favourites firmly include the fantastic Northern India and Rajasthan area with its array of colours and cultures, with the South being a close second, especially the immersive holidays that she creates for Kerala and Karnataka – she is also their spa and wellness expert visiting regularly the country’s very best resorts for ayurveda and yoga.

Anil Chauhan – Country Manager
With over 20 years of experience in travel, Anil brings deep destination knowledge, first-hand travel experience, and a genuine passion for creating meaningful journeys across the Indian subcontinent. His career began in his hometown of Jodhpur while he was pursuing his Master’s in Tourism Administration, where he joined a local travel company and learned the foundations of the industry from the ground up.
That early experience gave him a strong understanding of how memorable journeys are created — combining seamless planning with authentic local experiences. Travel has been an important part of Anil’s life since childhood. Coming from an Indian Air Force family, he had the unique opportunity to live in and travel through different parts of India as his father was posted to various locations across the country every few years. This gave him an early and personal connection with India’s extraordinary diversity — its landscapes, cultures, cuisines, traditions, and people.
Over the years, he has continued to travel extensively across India, exploring the country in great depth and developing specialist knowledge of destinations including Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Maha Rastra. His passion for travel extends beyond India as well, having travelled extensively through Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan — giving him valuable first-hand insight into some of South Asia’s most fascinating destinations.
After moving to Delhi to expand his career, Anil worked with several respected travel organisations before spending over 12 years working closely with Audley Travel’s UK and US clients, designing tailor-made journeys for discerning travellers seeking authentic and personalised experiences. His strong understanding of client expectations, combined with his destination expertise, earned him recognition as a
top performer on multiple occasions. Having joined Bespoke India Travels in 2023, Anil now focuses on what he enjoys most — helping guests discover India and South Asia through thoughtfully designed journeys, insider knowledge, and experiences that go beyond the ordinary. Whether it’s a first-time visit or a return trip, Anil loves helping travellers uncover the true spirit of the destinations he knows so well.

Angelika Seidl, Head of Social Media
I am originally from Austria and studied, lived and worked in France for many years. After quitting my job as International Marketing Manager for a European tour operator, I discovered India for the first time on my first Round-the-World trip.
Inspired by the Movie “Eat, Pray, Love”, I started experiencing India through an Ashram stay, and my love and fascination for India, its people and spiritual wisdoms grew further each year with regular visits, travels and yoga in this diverse country.
I have been travelling and living in various countries around the globe ever since and knows India and South East Asia well, returning regularly. Through my experiences and interest in sustainability and a better future for our Earth, I also feel called to bring ever more sustainable and responsible aspects for the environment and the local community into the travel industry.

My passion is to help bring people to India and Sri Lanka through Bespoke India and Sri Lanka Travel, on well-organised, safe and breathtakingly beautiful trips.

Larsha, Sr. Travel Advisor

With the lifelong love for travel,  I have been lucky to have travelled throughout Sri Lanka, Bali and Australia quite extensively.
Before starting my career in the travel industry, whilst studying tourism & hospitality management at Australian College of Business and Technology, I managed to make the most of my spare time in travelling across the length and breadth of the country.

Despite having visited all of these amazing destinations, I keep coming back to my home town-Negombo and particularly known for it’s beautiful beaches and fresh seafood!

I spend most of my weekends away with my husband driving to hidden gems of Sri Lanka ( yet to be discovered by mass tourism), getting to know stories from the locals which in turn gives me a more in-depth understanding and knowledge of the culture, cuisine, wild life and much more.

Now, I’m excited to be able to share my passion for this amazing country and help our guests plan their own adventures.

Tarun, Sr. Travel Advisor
With 14 years of travel industry experience, I would proudly say that it is a big part of me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my travels across Europe, Singapore, Cuba, China, Thailand , Dominican Republic and India. As an India Specialist, I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout the country, where I was born ; my experiences have ranged from hill trekking in the Himalayas in the North to immersing myself in the backwaters of Kerala in the south. From meeting the tribes in the east to doing the road trek through Rajasthan in the west. I now get to share such insights and love of the region with our guests every day to make their dream trips a reality.

Himanshu Joshi, Sr. Country Specialist

Born in a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas, Himanshu’s connection with travel began early. Growing up in Rishikesh, he spent much of his time assisting at his uncle’s yoga studio, where he regularly interacted with travellers from around the world. He would often accompany guests on walks and hikes into the nearby Shivalik hills—experiences that quietly shaped his curiosity, perspective, and deep appreciation for meaningful travel.

These early interactions sparked a lasting passion—not just for exploring places, but for understanding people and cultures. Over the past 14 years, Himanshu has been designing journeys across Indian subcontinent, while also travelling extensively himself, exploring the country’s remarkable diversity from the Himalayas to the south. His travels have also taken him beyond India to Nepal, Bhutan, and parts of Africa, further enriching his perspective as a travel designer.

What drives Himanshu is the desire to share this part of the world in a way that feels authentic, thoughtful, and personal. He believes that the most memorable journeys are those that go beyond the obvious—offering genuine connections, a sense of place, and moments that stay with you long after the journey ends.

Equally, it is his love for meeting people from different parts of the world that continues to inspire his work. For Himanshu, travel is not just about destinations, but about creating opportunities for meaningful exchange—something that lies at the heart of every journey he designs.
