ceylon Tea Trails, Hatton
Without a doubt, the island’s most beautiful and tastefully refurbished tea planter’s bungalows, and also the world’s first tea bungalow resort, Ceylon Tea Trails is made up of five bungalows: Castlereagh, Tientsin, Norwood, Summerville and Dunkeld, located an altitude of 1250 meters near Hatton. Each bungalow has been sensitively restored with period furnishings, combined with butler service and gourmet cuisine against a stunning backdrop of mountains and lush tea fields. The bungalows are unique in character from one another, offering guests a non-hotel, private get-away ambience. Each comes with its own manager, chef, butler and fabulous staff, and has between four to six rooms only. The bungalows are spacious and ideal for couples, families and small groups. Some of our favorite things to do in the area include high tea on the lawns with scones, strawberries and cream, lunch alfresco by the pools, long walks and treks through the tea country or when confined to the coziness of the bungalow, croquet and classic board games in front of the roaring fires at night.
