Rosyth Estate, Kandy
Set on 62 acres of a private rubber and tea estate, Rosyth Estate, a former planter’s home, provides an accurate look and feel into what life was like for colonial planters. Featuring 9 en suite bedrooms, and open plan living area that leads out to a tropical garden filled with exotic plants, the bungalow allows guests to experience the beauty of the hill country but without the higher altitudes which bring with them the much colder winters days and nights. Guests are free to explore the estate, take a tour of the nearby tea factory, or simply relax by the pool, taking in the scenic views of the forested hills. The estate has several walking trails and bicycles are available for guests to use. While the estate may feel closed off to the world, it is actually located just a few minutes away from the town of Kegalle, where the Millennium Elephant Foundation is located, and is a short drive from the city of Kandy, making it ideal for those who wish to sightsee but avoid the overcrowded nature of the city itself.
