Big Game Camps, Wilpattu
Big Game Camps is a tented camp located just seven kilometers from the entrance of Wilpattu National Park, which offers rustic accommodation and game viewing experiences in the island’s largest national park. Game including, elephant, leopard, sloth bear, water buffalo, Indian jackals, mugger and saltwater crocodiles and deer are conspicuous in this parks dense jungles, which is notable for its numerous lakes, after which the park is named. Game drives at the crack of dawn or just before are magical here as the park receives fewer visitors than the southern Yala National Park, as a result, it is possible to drive long periods without seeing another vehicle.
