Stafford Bungalow, Nuwara Eliya
Set amid beautiful tea plantations in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country, Stafford Bungalow is a holiday home, built by Scottish planters in the late 18th century, which today allows guests to get a taste of what life was like for the colonial tea planters. Explore the winding trails around the tea estate, or enjoy the cool mountain air out in the garden with a cup of tea and hot scones. The bungalow features four stylishly furnished bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a living area with fire place, and a snug library filled with books on old Ceylon. Located a scenic 30-minutes’ drive away from the town of Nuwara Eliya, guests can take a stroll around the hill country, visit a tea factory and learn the art of producing tea or hop on a boat across Gregory Lake, before ending the day with a hot toddy by the fire place.
