Cinnamon Wild, Yala
This rustic-syle resort is located at the border of Yala National Park, complete with a tribe of resident grey lemurs who like the occasional pounce on your rooftop in the wee hours. The drive leading to the hotel is lined with massive lakes filled with crocodile, pelican and deer that feed at the waters edge. The hotel’s location also means that elephants, wild boar and other wildlife residents are regular visitors crossing through from the park – an exciting experience in the safe confines of a five star hotel with staff experienced in this part of the island’s jungles. The hotel is suited to groups and families, and offers two choices in accommodation in the form of a Jungle or Beach Chalet, each with beautiful interiors and views. Wildlife experiences at the hotel range from guided safari games drives or walks, night time safaris, experiences with rural farmers and bird watching excursion to nearby Bundala National Park.
