Lazy days by beach for some final R&R are thrown in at the end.

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1 On arrival in Colombo Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Negombo Villa Hundira
Day 2 This morning Check-out from your hotel and travel to the Cultural Triangle to Sigiriya. En route visit Dambulla Cave Temples Sigiriya Cinnamon Lodge
Day 3 This morning set off to visit Sigiriya Rock Fort, a 5th-century legendary sky citadel of “Lion Rock” – arguably the most impressive site in Sri Lanka. An early morning start is recommended to avoid the heat and crowds.
In the afternoon, visit a small, rural village. Explore the countryside by bullock cart travelling slowly along paddy fields and farmland. At dusk, take a boat ride and sail to the other side of a lake, enjoying the fantastic sunset view, and looking out for birds, butterflies, as well as the villagers fishing or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake.

Day 4 Morning visit to Polonnaruwa, the island’s medieval capital between the 11th and 13th century.
Continue to visit Minneriya National Park which is famed for its large herds of wild elephants, and undoubtedly one of the best places in Asia to see elephants in their natural habitat

Day 5 Transfer to Kandy and check in to your hotel.
Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6 This morning visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya which boasts 300+ varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Visit with a local expert botanist and great host.
In the evening visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic – Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist shrine, and witness the Puja held in the temple with all the fanfare, drums, trumpets and brightly coloured monks.

Day 7 After breakfast, set off for Hatton by train a picturesque journey packed with beautiful mountains, waterfalls and tea plantations.

Check in to your hotel surrounded by the tea estates of Hatton, and views of Castlereagh Reservoir

Day 8 You will have the day leisure to enjoy the activities provided by the hotel such as hikes though the tea gardens, bike trails, kayaking on Castlereagh Reservoir.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the world’s best Ceylon Tea is produced.

Day 9 Check out from your hotel and travel to Yala National park.

Evening at leisure at your hotel.

Day 10 This morning at the crack of dawn head out for your morning game drive. Yala National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife including elephants, leopards, wild buffalo, sambar deer, musk deer, black bears, macaques, jackals and a numerous variety of birds.

Return back to your hotel in the late morning to relax. You will have the rest of the day at leisure until time for your afternoon jeep safari of the Yala National Park.

Day 12 This morning take a morning whales watching marine safari where, if lucky, you will see the magnificent Blue Whale, which are permanent residents in these waters, as well as dolphins and turtles Mirissa Lantern
