The journey ties in coastal, ancient towns, UNESCO World Heritage sites, game drives in Wilpattu for a less touristic, visually stunning lush landscape, secluded waterfalls and beautiful treks amidst untouched forest in Koslanda, lounging on one of Sri Lanka’s most brilliant beaches that open out to turquoise waters and sampling the island’s freshest seafood in Passikudah. Drive times may be a little longer, but are well worth the time spent on the road taking in equally beautiful scenery. Day 4 | Morning spent at leisure at the hotel. Afternoon game drive at Minneriya National Park, which is famed for the great gathering, the largest gathering of wild elephants anywhere in the world. The best month for this is August. | Sigiriya | Aliya Resort |

Day 13 | This morning check out early for your drive back to the west coast, and head towards Wilpattu National Park, one of the largest and is arguably the most spectacular, parks in Sri Lanka.
