Take a guided journey around Colombo with this tour which focuses on Sri Lanka’s great architect, Geoffrey Bawa. Visit his home where his inspiration came from followed by his other notable buildings in the city. The tour begins at Number 11, the hub of Geoffrey’s city life.  Your host is very knowledgeable not just on Bawa but also his notable friends from the art, architecture and textile scene, such as Barbara (Barefoot), Minette (Sri Lanka’s 1st female architect) and Ena (of Batik fame). You will discover those how those who worked for him still look after the house and hear some of the countless stories to be told. You will also visit The Gallery Café to appreciate another of Bawa’s architectural triumphs over a drink. The final stop on this tour is to the Seema Malaka Temple on Beira Lake, which he redesigned in the 1970’s.
